Now, I’m sure you found our website because you were looking for a martial arts program for your child, and I’m also fairly certain that you’re mostly expecting your child to get a little exercise and some self-defense training in a karate class. However, I’m here to tell you that martial arts training at Elmswell Karate offers your child many more benefits than fitness and self-defense.
Martial Arts Teaches Confidence!
What’s the number one thing that will make or break a child in every aspect of their life? That’s right, confidence! As a parent, you know how important it is to feel confident about yourself, and I’m sure you try hard to help build your child’s confidence in all they do.
But unfortunately there are so many negative influences that can impact your child’s self-image. Everything from negative and misleading media images, to social media, to bullying at school – these can all take a toll on a child’s feeling of self-worth and self-esteem.
Yet, I’m here to tell you that at Elmswell Karate we focus on giving kids unstoppable confidence – the kind that can only be gained through real honest achievement. And while it’s true that kids can gain confidence in any martial arts program, we go the extra mile to give your child positive reinforcement and praise in every single class.
Understand, this isn’t like some sports or recreational activities… I mean, we don’t just give kids ribbons for participation or showing up. Instead, we look for what they’re doing right, and we compliment them and encourage more of that behavior. This sort of consistent, sincere praise leads to increased positive behaviors from kids, and it helps their confidence skyrocket over the long term.

We had a wide range of experience levels attending this event. Some students were taking their first belts and some have been with us for over two years. We were extremely pleased with how everyone performed and dealt with their own nerves.
